In her junior year, she recorded two shutouts and a career high of 53 saves against Harvard in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals. Scrivens finished her collegiate career with the Big Red with 1,336 saves in 2,744 minutes of play.

“I hope to provide leadership and strong work ethic both on and off the ice this season,” said Scrivens. “Getting involved with community initiatives is important to me, and I look forward to giving back to the fans in Brooklyn for welcoming and supporting us.”

Amanda Makela grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario and played at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. While playing for the Lakers, Makela appeared in 84 games with a 1.72 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

She was also named 2015 College Hockey America Goaltender of the Year.

“The goalie position is such an important aspect of the game and I hope my handwork can bring confidence to the team, knowing that they can depend on me in any situation or any role that I might play,” Makela said.
