OSWEGO, N.Y. – Melissa Seamont (North Bay, Ontario), a junior on the women’s ice hockey team, has been named Oswego State Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 20.
Seamont made her mark in this past weekend’s series against Buffalo State with two game-winning goals. She scored Friday’s first goal late in the first period and assisted the next two goals in a 3-0 win. On Saturday, Seamont netted the first goal again early in the second period, as Oswego State held on for the 2-0 victory. She is now tied for the team lead in goals at seven and paces the squad in points with 20, which is seven points better than the next player.
