SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers have announced that former Oswego State men’s ice hockey player Eric Selleck has been recalled from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) to the NHL. Selleck is believed to be the first Laker player to appear in a NHL contest.
Selleck earns the first call up of his career and will make his NHL debut tomorrow against the Carolina Hurricanes at 7 p.m. Selleck has played 60 games for the Rampage this season, scoring 17 points (5-12-17) with 181 penalty minutes. He has played in 197 career AHL games posting 42 points (15-27-42).
Selleck was signed as a free agent by Florida on April 21, 2010 after he finished his sophomore season with 54 points (21-33-54). Selleck also earned First Team All-America honors and was named the SUNY Athletic Conference Herb Hammond Most Valuable Player during the 2009-10 season. He finished his career with 80 points (34-46-80) in 54 career games.
