CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s monthly award winners, and Danielle Serdachny (Colgate), Lucy Morgan (St. Lawrence), and Anna Hurd (Brown) have all been honored for the month of October.
Player of the Month
Serdachny (Edmonton, Alb.) picked up right where she left off last season, as the reigning ECAC Hockey Player of the Year registered 15 points (9-6) in October. She recorded points in eight of Colgate’s 10 games, including five multi-point outings. She turned her game up to the next level this past weekend, scoring three goals and adding a pair of assists to help the Raiders sweep their opening weekend of league play at Dartmouth and No. 10 Harvard.
MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month
Morgan (Mandan, N.D.) allowed just seven goals in six starts this month, boasting a 1.16 GAA while never allowing more than two goals in a single outing. Of the 158 shots she saw, the junior turned away 151 which was good for a .956 save percentage. Morgan’s best stretch also came at the start of ECAC Hockey play this past weekend, where she stopped 57 shots without allowing a goal in a sweep of RPI and Union.
Rookie of the Month
Despite just a four game slate for the Bears, Hurd (Pelham, N.Y.) made the most of her October, registering five points on three goals and two assists. She started her collegiate career with both Brown goals in a season-opening tie against Penn State, and recorded a point in each game after that. Two of Hurd’s three goals have come on the power play, as she’s quickly become a key presence in the Bears special teams unit.
