PURCHASE, N.Y. – For the second straight year, rising sophomore Sarah Sinning (Southold, NY/National Sports Academy) of the Manhattanville College women’s hockey team will be representing her country at the national level, as she was one of 10 players chosen to play for Team USA’s Senior Women’s Team at the 2015 FIRS Inline Hockey World Championships, which will be held in Rosario, Argentina on June 8-13.

Last summer, Sinning was a part of the Team USA Junior Women’s Team, which reached the championship game before falling to Spain, 4-2, in the finals. Sinning ranked second on Team USA and finished tied for eighth overall at the event with eight points (four goals, four assists) in six games.

Team USA captured the 2014 Senior Women’s championship last summer in France, outscoring its opponents 29-0 in pool play and then posting two wins before a 3-2 victory over Canada in the championship game. Three Americans return to the team from last year, in addition to returning head coach Charles Sgrillo.

On the ice, Sinning led all Valiant freshmen with five goals and eight points in her first collegiate season, and will expect to play a bigger role in the Manhattanville offense as a sophomore. The Valiants are slated to open the 2015-16 season on November 6 at Nichols College; the full schedule will be released later this summer on GoValiants.com.
