POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey player Joey Sollazzo (Ottawa, Ontario/Navan Grads) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference’s Rookie of the Week.
Sollazzo, a freshman forward, got into the scoring column just 5:07 into his collegiate career. He scored the Bears first goal of the season in a 3-3 tie with Saint Michael’s College on Friday night. At Saint Mike’s on Saturday, Sollazzo scored two more, including the shorthanded game-winner, in 5-2 victory.
The Bears head down Route 11 to battle SUNY Canton at 7 p.m. on Friday night. They then host the Kangaroos at the same time on Saturday.
