Stars appoint Doersam as Director of Scouting, Recruitment & College Placement

The Buffalo Stars are pleased to announce the appointment of James Doersam as Director of Scouting, Recruitment and College Placement. In this new position, James will be responsible to oversee all scouting and recruitment of potential players into the Buffalo Stars organization. In addition, James will serve as the point person for our Junior and Midget Players in assisting them with advancement opportunities into higher levels of Junior and eventually college hockey.

James, a lifelong member of the Stars youth organization (Buffalo Hornets), was Associate Coach for the Iowa State ACHA team the past 4 seasons. James moved back to Buffalo this past year and has been serving as the Stars Empire interim Junior Associate Coach since Training Camp.

“I am really looking forward to this new opportunity within my alma mater” said Doersam. “To have an opportunity to build an entire department from scratch is a great opportunity and I look forward to the challenge”.  Doersam will report directly to Stars President/General Manager Pete Preteroti.
