The Buffalo Stars opened their 2012-13 season with a Salute to the Troops and the retiring of three jerseys.
A Grand Opening Ceremony preceded the game with a ceremonial puck dropped by a member of the U.S. Army (retired). The Stars conducted fundraisers that benefited the Wounded Warrior Project and the Air National Guard 107th Family Support Unit.
Veterans Steve Kinney, Mike Flatley and Joey Rohm (Pictured) had their jerseys retired.
During the ceremony the 2012-13 captains were named including Mike Harris (C) and Patrick Schmelzinger and Jusstice Rogers (A).
