The Hobart College hockey team edged Salve Regina tonight 2-1 in its final game of the 2016 Vineyard Classic tonight in Oak Bluffs, Mass. The Statesmen are now 12-2-2 overall.
The Seahawks scored first, taking advantage of a power play in the first period. Hobart sophomore Tyler Wolf (Napersville, Ill.) tied things up in the middle period 12:05 in on a power play and after a feed from junior Carl Belizario (Dorval, Quebec). Sophomore Vincent Russo (Jackson, N.J.) sent home the game winner with 3:56 left in regulation.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Jan. 22, when they host Nazareth for an ECAC West game at 7:30 p.m. in The Cooler.
