Stumm Is NEWHL Rookie of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — First-year forward Lily Stumm (Cranberry Township, Pa./Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) of No. 4 Plattsburgh State women’s ice hockey has been named the Northeast Women’s Hockey League (NEWHL) Rookie of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Dec. 5, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. 

Stumm tallied one goal, one assist, two points, four shots on goal and a +1 rating to help Plattsburgh State (8-2-0, 7-0-0 NEWHL) to a 2-0-0 record last week. 

Stumm began the week with an assist in Plattsburgh State’s 6-1 win at SUNY Potsdam on Friday, Dec. 3. She concluded the week by scoring the first goal of the game in the Cardinals’ 4-1 victory at SUNY Canton on Saturday, Dec. 4.

This is the first NEWHL Rookie of the Week honor of Stumm’s career.

Plattsburgh State next faces No. 3 Elmira College at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, as part of the Norwich East-West Hockey Classic.
