The Riveters have added some offensive punch with the signing of Brooke Avery out of Syracuse University. The 5-10 forward scored 24 goals over the last two seasons at Syracuse.

A New Hampshire native, Avery scored the game-winning goal and earned an assist in Syracuse’s win over Robert Morris in the CHA Tournament championship game, giving the Orange their first conference title and berth in the NCAA Tournament.

“Coming off a memorable season at Syracuse, I’m eager to play at the next level and be a part of another championship team,” said Avery. “I’m excited to continue my playing career and start a new chapter with the Rivs. I will continue to develop areas where I need to improve while excelling in other aspects of my game. I’m grateful for the opportunity the NWHL and Riveters have offered and honored to be a role model for the future of the sport.”

Avery led Syracuse with 14 goals in her junior year. Her 22 points last season (10 goals and 12 assists) were tied for second on the team.

“Brooke has talent, power and a great deal of dedication to her game,” said Riveters GM Kate Whitman Annis. “We are delighted to add her to the Riveters lineup.”
