WINTHROP, Mass. – Syracuse forward Alysha Burriss has been tabbed CHA Player of the Week following a four-point outing against Lindenwood on Feb. 17. Burriss tallied four assists in game two against the Lions, helping the Orange to a 5-4 victory and their 11th conference win of the season.
The Napanee, Ontario native set a new career-high in points and assists with her four-assist effort at Lindenwood. She is the first Orange to record four or more assists in a game since Oct. 21, 2015 when Melissa Piacentini tallied four in a 7-1 victory over RIT.
This is the first CHA weekly honor for Burriss this season and the fourth of her career. The senior is quickly climbing the Syracuse record book in a multitude of categories. Burriss sits tied for fourth in career points (91) and three-plus point games (five) and ranks tied for sixth for career assists (51).
Sitting at 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) this season, Burriss has eclipsed the 20-point mark in all four seasons with the Orange. Her 22 points paces the Orange in scoring this season, while she sits in second in assists, just behind redshirt sophomore Lindsay Eastwood.
Burriss and the Orange close out the regular season with a two-game series at home against No. 9 Robert Morris. Syracuse will honor its five seniors, Burriss included, for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 24. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
