Talarico named SUNYAC Goalie of the Week

POTSDAM, N.Y.祐UNY Potsdam hockey player Shane Talarico (Greensburg,
Pa./Elmira College) has been named the State University of New York
Athletic Conference痴 Goalie of the Week for the week ending January 5.

Talarico痴 stellar play helped the Bears to a weekend sweep of Division II
rival Saint Anselm College. On Friday, the senior made a season-high 32
saves as Potsdam topped the Hawks 5-2. Talarico turned aside another 28
shots on Saturday as the Bears held on for the 2-1 win. His 60 saves on 63
shots gave him a 1.50 goals-against-average and .952 save percentage for
the weekend.

This season, the goaltender is a perfect 4-0, with victories in three
straight starts. He has lowered his G.A.A. to 2.12 and is tied for 11th in
the nation with a save percentage of .932. This is Talarico痴 second time
earning the honor. He was also the conference痴 goalie of the week on Jan.
11, 2013.

The Bears are back in action with non-conference games against Castleton
State on Friday and Skidmore College on Saturday. Both games start at 7
p.m.
