HAVERHILL, Mass. – Freshman goaltender Jackson Teichroeb of the Niagara hockey team was awarded with Atlantic Hockey Association weekly honors, pocketing Travel Team USA Player, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week announced by the league on Tuesday morning.
Despite dropping his first career start for the Niagara hockey team on Saturday against Clarkson, the rookie goaltender had a superb showing between the pipes.
The London, Ont. native made 39 saves against the Golden Knights in his debut in Purple and White in 59:16 minutes of play. After one game the 6-foot-1 netminder owns a .951 save percentage and a 2.02 goals-against average.
Teichroeb also picked up his first career point assisting on Mike Conderman’s power play goal.
Teichroeb and the Purple Eagles resume play on Saturday, Oct. 12 when Niagara hosts the Canisius Golden Griffins in the season’s first AHA contest of the season. Puck drop is schedule for 7 p.m.
