SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Three members of the Union College hockey team were honored by ECAC Hockey on Friday.

Senior forward Daniel Ciampini (Concord, Ont.) was named to the All-ECAC Hockey First Team, sophomore defenseman Jeff Taylor (Clifton Park, N.Y.) chosen to the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team and freshman forward Spencer Foo (Edmonton, Alberta) selected to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team. The teams were chosen in voting by league coaches.

Ciampini finished as runner-up in the ECACH scoring race, compiling 27 points. He also finished second in goals (17) while posting a league-best seven power play tallies. Ciampini was twice named ECAC Hockey Player of the Month (January, February) and is just the second Union forward (joining Daniel Carr, 2013-14) to earn a spot on the league’s top team.

Taylor finished as the second-highest scoring defenseman (14 points) in league play, missing out on top honors by one point despite missing five games to injury. His 12 assists in 17 games were the most from the blueline. Taylor compiled a career-best four points (1-3) – including the game-winning goal – in a 6-1 win over Princeton (Nov. 15) at Messa Rink.

Foo placed third in rookie conference scoring, stockpiling 12 points in 22 games. Foo, who amassed points in 10 games, shared top rookie honors in assists (8) and was chosen ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week (March 10). He becomes the third Dutchmen to earn All-Rookie Team honors during Rick Bennett’s tenure at Union.

Union posted an 8-13-1 mark in league play, earning a No. 10 seed in the ECACH Hockey Tournament, and eventually falling to top seed Quinnipiac in the quarterfinals.
