Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder raised over $10,000 for the C.R. Wood Cancer at Glens Falls Hospital from Pink in the Rink night, presented by Glens Falls Hospital, held on Saturday, January 13 at Cool Insuring Arena.
The post-game jersey auction totaled over $9,000 alone as each game-worn Thunder jersey was auctioned off following Adirondack’s 4-1 win over the Reading Royals. Topping the bids was Shane Conacher’s jersey, which became the highest selling Thunder jersey in three years at an even $1,000. Through the 50/50 raffle and money donated from ticket sales, over $1,000 in additional funds were added to the total donation to surpass the $10,000 mark for the second straight season.
“We’d like to first thank our fans for their incredible generosity in helping us to support a great local cause,” Cool Insuring General Manager Jeff Mead said. “Pink in the Rink has been one of our most near and dear causes over the past three seasons and to surpass the $10,000 mark for the second straight year is terrific. Thank you to Glens Falls Hospital for partnering with us on a great night and we look forward to another great evening next season.”
The Thunder also honored 15 breast cancer survivors during the jersey auction, who each took a player’s jersey to auction off to the fans. Breast cancer survivors were also honored as the “Hero of the Game” during the second period as the Thunder partnered with Glens Falls Hospital and the dedicated staff at the C.R. Wood Cancer to connect with survivors throughout the area and make the evening a possibility.

We would like to thank everyone who made this event a huge success.”
