PRINCETON, N.J. – Cam Johnson of the Adirondack Thunder has been named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Oct. 29-Nov. 4.
Johnson went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .980 in two appearances last week.
The 24-year-old made 34 saves in a 5-1 win against Newfoundland on Tuesday and stopped all 16 shots he faced in a 3-0 victory at Worcester on Friday.
A native of Troy, Michigan, Johnson was reassigned to the Thunder by the National Hockey League’s New Jersey Devils last week. He has also seen action in four games with Binghamton of the American Hockey League this season.
Prior to turning pro, Johnson appeared in 102 career games at the University of North Dakota posting an overall record of 56-26-12 with 12 shutouts, a 2.10 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914.
