COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Children all across the United States who have never before tried hockey will have a chance to skate, shoot and score Saturday, Nov. 9, as USA Hockey hosts Try Hockey For Free Day, presented by SportsEngine.Host sites will provide equipment for children to borrow during Try Hockey events and no experience is needed to attend. Certified USA Hockey coaches and volunteers will be on the ice to help participants learn to skate.Families can find the Try Hockey location closest to them by visiting TryHockeyForFree.com. More than 400 sites in 48 of the nation’s 50 states will host a Try Hockey event.This will be the first of two Try Hockey For Free Days this season, with Feb. 22 also scheduled as part of USA Hockey’s Hockey Week Across America celebration.USA Hockey’s Try Hockey For Free Days, with the support of the NHL and NHL member clubs, among others, are designed to provide a national platform for introducing children to the sport free of charge.
