HAVERHILL, Mass. – After helping the Niagara hockey team earn a weekend sweep over Atlantic Hockey foe Army, sophomore Hugo Turcotte has been named the Travel Team USA Player of the Week by the AHA, as announced on Tuesday morning.

The center pushed the team to its third consecutive season sweep with a five-point weekend.  In two games Turcotte notched four goals, including his first career hat trick during Saturday’s 8-3 victory, and added an assist.  His point total moved him into the top spot on the team in goals (4) and points (8).

The Laval, Quebec City native finished the weekend with nine shots and a plus-6 rating.

Niagara will travel to Erie, Pa. on tonight to face Mercyhurst for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop.

Her initial story was on the founding of the Niagara University D1 program, she expanded to collegiate and youth and was active in the founding and promoting of the WNY Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Federation.
