CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – After scoring two power-play goals in Union’s 3-2 victory over Merrimack College, sophomore Liam Robertson was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week the league announced Monday.

Robertson was instrumental on special teams in the win over the Warriors. The sophomore opened the scoring on the powerplay, tapping in a rebound to give the Dutchmen a 1-0 lead. Robertson scored the game winner on the powerplay at 14:15 of the third period, backhanding a puck into the net to give Union a 3-2 lead.

Saturday’s game was Robertson’s first career multi-goal game and the first time he scored the game winner. The sophomore is second on the team in scoring with eight points (5-3-8) through 13 games this season. Four of five of Robertson’s goals this season have come on the powerplay.
