BUFFALO, New York – Adam Page (Lancaster, N.Y.) scored twice and eight other U.S. players collected a point to help the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team earn its third consecutive shutout in a 6-0 semifinal victory over Norway. With the win, Team USA will play rival Canada in the gold-medal game on Sunday (May 3) at 2:30 p.m. ET at HARBORCENTER. The game will be broadcast live in the United States on NBC Sports Network.

“We reached our goal of playing for gold,” said Jeff Sauer, head coach of the 2015 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. “It’s going to be tough but that’s the reason we’re here. It’s going to be great to play for gold in front of our home crowd.”

In the first period, Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) found Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) in the slot for an easy slide-in goal on the power play to open the scoring at 8:56. Less than two minutes later, Team USA captain Josh Sweeney (Phoenix, Ariz.) poked in the puck from beside the net to make it 2-0.

Just 2:53 into the middle stanza, Paul Schaus (Buffalo, N.Y.) collected a rebound from a Sweeney shot to put the U.S. up by three. With Team USA continuing to pressure Norway, Page threw the puck on net and Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) tapped in the loose puck to increase the lead by four. With two seconds on the clock Page shot the puck from the top of the left circle and beat Norway goaltender’s short side for the fifth U.S. tally.

Forty-six seconds into the final frame, Page notched his third point of the night on the power play for the 6-0 final score. With his three points in tonight’s game, Page tied former U.S. National Sled Hockey Team member Alexi Salamone (Buffalo, N.Y.) for the most points (10) in a single IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships tournament, as well as most career points (18) in world championship play by a U.S. player.

Goaltenders Steve Cash (Overland, Mo.) and Kyle Huckaby (Port Author, Texas) split time in net for the U.S. Cash played the first two periods and stopped all six shots he faced. Huckaby started the final frame and stopped the single shot he faced.

Team USA will play in the gold-medal game on Sunday (May 3) versus Canada. Puck drop is set for 2:30 p.m. ET at HARBORCENTER. Tickets are $20 and the game will be televised live on NBC Sports Network.
