PLYMOUTH, Minn. — The Chipotle-USA Hockey 2018 High School National Championships concluded today with Minnesota Premier Prep Green (Girls), the Sioux City Metros (Division II; teams comprised of players from multiple high schools) and Santa Margarita High School (Division I; single-school teams) winning national championships.

Minnesota Premier Prep Green, powered by two goals and an assist from tournament top-scorer Ali Beltz (New Ulm, Minnesota), defeated Minnesota Premier Prep Black 3-1 to claim the inaugural Girls Division title at USA Hockey’s High School National Championships.

The Sioux City Metros rallied from a 2-0 deficit to top BHC Monarch of Colorado by a 3-2 score in the Division II title game. Drake Beller (Sioux City, Iowa) scored a third-period goal, his third goal of the tournament, and goaltender Blake Beller (Sioux City, Iowa) made 27 saves to clinch the championship for Sioux City in Dave Legree’s final season as Metros head coach.

An overtime goal at 2:07 of the extra session from Leevi Selanne (Los Angeles, California), son of Hockey Hall of Famer Teemu Selanne, lifted Santa Margarita High School to the Division I national championship with a 3-2 win over Regis Jesuit High School (Colorado). Trailing 2-1 in the final moments of regulation, Santa Margarita evened the score with a mere two seconds remaining on a goal from Joseph Felicicchia (Los Angeles, California).
