COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey unveiled today the three Nike jerseys that its 2018 Olympic and Paralympic teams will wear during the upcoming Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, as part of the U.S. Olympic Committee’s 100 Days Out celebration in Times Square.
The three versions of the jersey include a white “home” jersey, a blue “away” jersey and an old royal “third” jersey.The U.S. men’s and women’s Olympic and U.S. Paralympic sled teams will don what are being tabbed the fastest looking and brightest jerseys ever during their quest to win gold in the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Nike’s development team incorporated an upgraded lightweight and breathable ripstop material as the basis for each jersey, incorporating more mesh (for example, in the collar) to increase ventilation in the jerseys.
Other jersey highlights include:
• The inspirational slogan of Land of the Free – Home of the Brave hidden in the back neck of the jersey
• Injected silicone molds make the trim pop
• Graphic on the sleeve was inspired by bald eagle feathers and represents the theme of fluid force
• The flicker film (rather than heavy twill) base for the crest and numbers increase vibrancy and sparkles under arena lights.
