UTICA, NY – Freshman defender Dalton Carter (Toledo, OH/Northern Cyclones (EHL)) of the Utica College men’s hockey team was named the ECAC West Rookie of the Week on Monday. Carter is making his second appearance as the Conference’s rookie of the week this season and he was also named the Conference’s player of the week back on Nov. 3rd.
Carter netted a goal and added two assists in a 1-1 weekend for the Pioneers. He scored a goal and added an assist in the Pioneers’ 3-2 win over Elmira on Friday night. Carter is tied for first in the conference in defensemen scoring with an average of .75 points per game this season. He is also second in the conference in rookie scoring with 18 points.
Utica returns to the ice for its final regular season contest of the year on Friday night when the Pioneers travel to Nazareth College (7 p.m.).
