UTICA, NY- The Utica College women’s hockey team is currently ranked No. 10 in both national polls, released Monday.

The Pioneers dropped one spot in the D3hockey.com poll, while jumping up a place in the USCHO.com rankings. Utica topped No. 4/5 Elmira College, 5-1, in the ECAC West semifinal game on Saturday, before falling to No. 1 Plattsburgh State in the conference finals on Sunday.

Utica wrapped up arguably its most successful season in program history with an overall record of 19-8-1. The Pioneers set new program records for wins and conference wins (13) in a season and reached the conference final for just the second time in program history.

The Pioneers bid farewell to two seniors, Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) and Janessa Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Canadian International Hockey Academy). Reed wraps up her career ranked fourth all-time with 111 points. She is also tied for third in program history with 54 goals to her credit. Haasbeek, this year’s captain, helped lead the Utica defense that allowed just 1.75 goals per game this season.
