ALBANY, N.Y. – For the second week in a row, sophomore center Mike Vecchione of Union College has been named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week.

Vecchione recorded a goal and four assists in Union’s road sweep of Maine last weekend (Oct. 17-18).  In the series opener, he scored the game-winning goal and was named the game’s No.2 Star in a 3-0 win.  The next night, Vecchione registered a career-high three assists and earned No.2 Star honors in a 5-2 triumph.

Vecchione, who has started the season with four straight multiple-point games, leads the Dutchmen in scoring with three goals and six assists for nine points in four contests.  He is tied with Nebraska-Omaha’s Jake Guentzel for the national lead in points.

No.2-ranked Union (4-0) plays host to No.8/9 St. Cloud State (1-1) this weekend in Messa Rink.
