West Point Welcomes New Jersey Devils

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Athletics is welcoming the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League for a leadership development experience.

For those interested in visiting West Point for this unique opportunity, the Devils will have an open pregame practice on Monday, Oct. 2, at Tate Rink beginning at 9:30 a.m. The team will skate for approximately 90 minutes with no tickets necessary to attend.

In order to get on post at the United States Military Academy, all guests are required to first obtain a badge at the Visitor’s Center, which is located at 2107 New South Post Road, West Point N.Y. 10996. Please leave yourself enough time to get through the entrance process. Fans can park in the Army “A” Lot and walk down to Tate Rink from there.

This is not an unusual thing for West Point as multiple NHL franchises have trained at USMA. In addition to the two previous visits by the Devils in 1985 and 2016, previous NHL teams to train at West Point including the Philadelphia Flyers (2008, 2005, 2003, 1998), Pittsburgh Penguins (2007, 2013) New York Rangers (2007, 2005), Buffalo Sabres (1985) and Florida Panthers (2005, 2007, 2016).
