Loughran scores six-point night, lands Forward of the Week
The United States Hockey League announced the Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 4 of the 2017-18 season. Fargo Force forward Griffin Loughran and Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Brendan Bushy earned their first USHL weekly honors, while Madison Capitols goaltender Dryden McKay picked up his third career USHL Goaltender of the Week award. Loughran recorded seven points over the weekend, including a six-point night on Saturday, Bushy scored a goal in both of Dubuque’s games over the weekend to help the Fighting Saints to a pair of wins and McKay led Madison to a victory on Saturday by stopping all but one of the 50 shots he faced . The USHL is America’s only Tier 1 junior hockey league, and continues to lead the world in the advancement of Division I college hockey athletes.
Forward: Griffin Loughran – Fargo Force

Loughran exploded for seven points in two games for Fargo over the weekend. He scored the opening goal of the game on Friday night as he helped the Force to a 3-1 victory in Waterloo. The Northern Michigan commit followed that up with an even more impressive performance, scoring a hat trick and dishing out three assists in Fargo’s 6-5 victory in Des Moines on Saturday. Loughran is now one of five players tied for the USHL lead in scoring with 10 points (4G, 6A) and has been a big reason for Fargo’s four-game winning streak. He has recorded at least one point in four of his last five games, with nine points (4G, 5A) in that span. Loughran played nine games for the Youngstown Phantoms in 2016-17, tallying two points (1G, 1A) in nine games. Prior to his USHL career, the West Seneca, NY played for the Corpus Christi Ice Rays (NAHL) and Buffalo Jr. Sabres (T1EHL). He was selected in the 14th round, 222nd overall by Fargo in the 2017 USHL Phase II Draft.
