William Smith College junior forward Gina Scibetta (Brewerton, N.Y./Syracuse Nationalls/Central Square) was named to the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week.
Scibetta had a team-high seven points in a 2-0-0 weekend for the Herons against Salve Regina. She opened the season with a career-high four points in a 7-2 win over the Seahawks on Friday night. Scibetta scored twice, including the first goal of the season for William Smith and assisted on two goals. The next night, she had a goal and two assists in a 5-2 victory. Scibetta’s power-play goal just over five minutes into the first period tied the game at one. She assisted on both of Stephanie Hampton’s goals later in the game.
After a week off, the Herons will open up their home and conference schedule next weekend, Nov. 9-10, when they welcome Stevenson to The Cooler. The Herons are 1-1-1 all-time against the Mustangs. This will be the Mustangs first trip to Geneva after playing two games in Maryland and one in Pine Valley last year.
