Top American prospects eligible for 2020 NHL Draft to compete at USA Hockey Arena tomorrow
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey today announced that forward Trevor Kuntar (Williamsville, N.Y.) will participate in the 2020 BioSteel All-American Game, which will take place tomorrow (Jan. 20) at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. He will be part of the Team Gomez roster.Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be televised live on NHL Network.The game features the top American players eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft and this season, for the first time, the format has players from the U.S. National Under-18 Team of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program — Team Knuble, taking on the top draft-eligible American-born players from the USHL, the lone Tier I junior league in the United States — Team Gomez. The teams are named after the honorary coaches for the contest, retired NHL stars Mike Knuble (Kentwood, Mich.) and Scott Gomez (Anchorage, Alaska).Kuntar is in his third season with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL. Through 28 games, the 6-foot forward has recorded 23 goals and 15 assists for a combined 38 points.
