BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Beauts announced the team has agreed to terms with forward Emily Janiga.

“I’d like to thank the Beauts for bringing me home and giving me another chance to play in front of our great fans at Harborcenter,” Janiga said. “I’m excited to be a part of such a great organization and I can’t wait for the season to begin.”

Janiga (5’8”, 3/4/1994) led the NWHL during the 2017 playoffs with three goals and tied for the Beauts’ team lead with four points to help Buffalo claim the 2017 Isobel Cup. Drafted by Buffalo with the 16th overall selection in the 2015 NWHL Draft, Janiga ranked third on the Beauts with 11 points (6+5) in 17 games during her only NWHL season in 2016-17.

A native of East Aurora, New York, Janiga played collegiately for Mercyhurst University (CHA) from 2012 to 2016, where she was named CHA Player of the Year in 2014-15 after leading the conference in goals (27) and points (45). She ranks among the top 10 at Mercyhurst in career goals (7th, 72), assists (T-10th, 78) and points (8th, 150).
