Hamilton College’s Katie Parkman ’17 (Stratford, Prince Edward Island/Brewster Academy [N.H.]) was selected the NESCAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week on Jan. 12.

Parkman scored three goals and added two assists for five points in a 3-0 week for the Continentals. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the Saint Michael’s College DoubleTree Classic after she posted two goals and an assist in Friday’s 5-1 win against the hosts, and chipped in one goal and one helper in Saturday’s 5-3 victory against Plymouth State. Her goal late in the second period of Saturday’s game tied the score at 3-3 as Hamilton rallied to capture the tournament title.

The forward is tied for sixth place in the NESCAC with six goals and is tied for the conference lead with three power-play tallies. She also has four assists for 10 points.

Janet has been covering women's hockey for over 35 years. Along with a 38 year career in Public Relations and over 40 years photographing sports, she found a passion in women's hockey. Her initial story was on the founding of the Niagara University D1 program, she expanded to collegiate and youth and was active in the founding and promoting of the WNY Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Federation. When Professional Women's Hockey hit the ice she was there, one of the first to release the story in WNY. Along with her husband, Randy, people comment that if there's hockey, the Schultz's are there!
