World Girls Hockey Weekend Coming To Rochester

The World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend is a global opportunity for girls to try out hockey as a new sport. Thousands of participants took part in the editions since 2011. Women’s ice hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the world thanks to events like this one and similar programs that are being run in many countries. It is an opportunity for girls of all ages to try ice hockey, with the event designed to;

Be introduced to basic skills in hockey in a positive, fun and safe environment.
Learn about opportunities in ice hockey in their community.
Learn about fair play, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Meet new friends and have a chance to fall in love with a new sport.

Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex has teamed up with Rochester Edge Girls Hockey, Selects Academy at Bishop Kearney, and Nazareth College Women’s Hockey to host this event for girls in the Greater Rochester Area. This event will take place at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex on October 6th, 2018 from 10:15am to 11:45am. The event is designed for girls ages 4 to 12 with no hockey experience to hit the ice in a positive environment, in an effort to try the game of ice hockey. Full hockey equipment is provided for each participant, and on ice instruction is provided by some of the top girls ice hockey coaches, along with assistance from local female players from various organizations.
