WWII Iwo Jima Vet To Drop Ceremonial Face-off Puck Tonight In Binghamton

BINGHAMTON N.Y. – (B-Sens Photo) – The Binghamton Senators continue Military Appreciation Night tonight with a special ceremonial faceoff followed by a Marine ceremony during the first intermission against the Springfield Thunderbirds.

The B-Sens are honored to have Al Rood, a WWII veteran who served at Iwo Jima, drop the ceremonial faceoff inside the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena prior to tonight’s contest.

In addition, during the first intermission approximately 50 Marine enlistees from the Twin Tiers region of New York and Pennsylvania are slated to conduct an Oath of Enlistment at center ice.
